Barbara Ann Webster, 79, of Troutman, N.C., a cherished Mom and Grandma, passed away on March 25, 2026, peacefully in her sleep at her residence.

She was born on July 28, 1946, in Mooresville, N.C., and grew up in Bryson City, N.C., where she attended Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was a devoted follower of Jesus’ teachings and her faith was an essential part of her life.

Barbara was a lifelong learner. She graduated from Swain County High School and later went on to graduate from Morain Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Ill., with high honors. With her love of learning and curiosity, she was also certified in EMT training, gun safety, mixology, medical coding and computer coding.

In her golden years what brought her joy was spoiling her pets, observing the nature around her, and her jovial conversations with her grandson. She also loved Mother’s Day beach trips with her daughters, especially the dolphin tours. Barbara lived a life marked by passion, perseverance and a fierce love for her family.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Delphi Hyde. She is lovingly and respectfully remembered by her two daughters, Kimberly Winship and Lynn Bennett. She also leaves behind her grandson, Alexander Winship; and her former husband and the father of her children, Bragg Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel, located at 135 E. Front Street, Statesville, NC 28677.
