Carolyn Sue Queen Dalke, 84, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Carolyn was born on September 6, 1941, in McDowell County, N.C. She most recently resided in Statesville, and she lived in Spring Lake, N.C., for many years.

A kind-hearted and devoted woman, Carolyn worked for Westinghouse / Eaton for much of her career. She carried herself with quiet strength and was known for her kind, tender heart and giving spirit.

Carolyn was married to Marvin Thomas Dalke for 56 years. She loved her family and lived for her grandchildren, taking immense pride in their accomplishments. As often as possible, she attended basketball games, volleyball games, musicals, and recitals, faithfully cheering them on as their No. 1 fan.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Marvin Thomas Dalke of Statesville, N.C.; her daughter, Traci Michelle Dalke (John Tan) of Statesville, N.C.; her brother, Bill Queen (Lynn Queen); her sister, Janie Green (Richard Green); her sister, Ruth Porterfield (Tom Porterfield); and her grandsons, John Thomas Tan, Myles Tan, Hunter Tan, Jackson Tan, and Griffith Tan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved with all of her heart.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Queen and Earl Queen; her sisters, Fern Ledbetter, Evelyn Esworthy, and Nell Garner; and her parents, John Bunyan Queen and Pearl Mae McGee Queen.

There are no formal services scheduled for Carolyn at this time.
