Cynthia Gayle Fox, 60, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. She was born on May 11, 1965, to Mary James Fox and the late George Franklin “Frank” Fox. She was a graduate of South Iredell High School.

Cynthia enjoyed many years at LifeSpan in Troutman, where she formed lasting friendships and brought joy to those around her. She had a love for watching Carolina basketball games and, in her younger years, looked forward each year to participating in the Special Olympics, where the softball throw was her favorite event. Cynthia also had a special gift for numbers and dates—if she knew your birthdate, she never forgot it. She found great enjoyment in working math problems and sharing her talents with others.

In addition to her mother, left to cherish her memory are her brother, Phil Fox (Michele); sister, Patty Millsaps (Kent); nephews, Zach Millsaps (Kasie) and Zane Millsaps (Lisa); nieces, Candace Stikeleather (Justin) and Stacey Josey (Beau); and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her home care nurse, Cindy, for the compassionate care she provided.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Troutman Funeral Home.

Troutman Funeral Home is serving the Fox family.
