Dorothy “Dot” Etta Hardin Clough, 82, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

She was born in Rutherford, N.C., on January 23, 1943, to the late Roland Lawson Hardin and Essie Franklin Hardin. She was employed as a data entry clerk in the banking business for many years.

Dot was strong in her faith and served faithfully alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife during his ministry.

In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Otis Clough Jr.; and six siblings.

She is survived by her children, Lex Bryan Clough (Sara), Otis Lee Clough (Sonya), and Ginger Clough Miller (David); grandchildren, Bethany, Zachary, Jeffrey, Kayley (Jack), Jacob, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Micah, and Noelle; step grandchildren, David Jr., (Shawnetta), Casey, and Jessica (Forest); seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Donald Hardin; and niece, Tamara Jones.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, January 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Celebration of Dot’s Life will be at 11 a.m. in the Cavin-Cook Chapel with Rev. Bryan Clough and Rev. Dr. Otis L. Clough officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C.
