Elmer Gaither Allen, 84, of Little River, S.C., and formerly of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was surrounded by the love of Jesus and his family.

Elmer was born on December 11, 1941. He was the son of the late Elmer Allen Sr. and Mildred Allen. He proudly served as a veteran of the United States Navy and built a successful career in sales. Elmer loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing over the years as well as cheering for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Elmer’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, “Pop”, and friend. His quiet and strong faith, along with his generosity and quick humor, drew others to him. Elmer was a humble man and respected by all who loved him.

Family left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Judy Pence Allen; daughter DeNeil Suarez and husband Brian of Statesville, N.C., and son Greg Allen and wife Niki of Mooresville, N.C., four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. All were his pride and joy.

Elmer is also survived by sisters Nancy Lipscomb (Jim) and Faye Barney (Doug), of Mocksville, N.C., and was predeceased by sister Jane Painter.

A celebration of life service will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, S.C. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 1:30 p.m. In honor of Elmer, memorials to a local Hospice organization are appreciated.
