Frances Coralee Lazenby Houpe, 81, of Statesville, N.C., transitioned Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House.

She was born November 22, 1944, in Iredell County to the late Arthur Francis and Mary Helen Turner Lazenby. Mrs. Houpe was a member of St. Peter’s World Outreach Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Houpe; and a brother, Johnnie Lazenby.

Survivors include children, Cynthia H. Smith, Willard Houpe, and Kennard Houpe; siblings, William Lazenby, Margaret Lazenby, Leonard Lazenby, Herbert Brown Jr., Richard Lazenby, Rita Lazenby, and Robert Lazenby; and grandchildren, Cynthia Q. Smith, Quintin R. White, Michelle Austin, and Randy Honaker.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Peter’s World Outreach, 3683 Old Lexington Road Winston-Salem, N.C., with the funeral service to follow at 12 noon.
