Mr. Fred “Freddie” Lester Wyatt Jr., 71, of Statesville, N.C., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Freddie was born on May 6, 1954, in Iredell County to the late Fred Lester Wyatt Sr. and Nancy Novella Campbell Wyatt Powell.

Freddie enjoyed his career as a truck driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old Ford vehicles. Freddie was one of a kind. He always had a smile on his face and had a great sense of humor. He was kind, caring, and compassionate. Freddie loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his step-dad, Dennis Lee Powell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Cynthia “Cyndi” Wyatt Cook and husband Nelson; his son Kevin Lee Wyatt and wife Sarah; his five grandchildren, Caitlin, Allison and Paxton Cook, Isaac and Tyler Wyatt, and his life partner and caregiver Annie Graham. Also, he is survived by his half-brothers and half-sister, Butch and Jimmy Powell, and Mary Powell.

A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. Pastor Steven Pope and Pastor Chris Thompson will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the celebration of life at 4 p.m.
