George Wayne Campbell, 81, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. Wayne was born on May 12, 1944, to the late Mattie Mae Campbell. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Barbara Ellis Campbell, whom he married on February 19, 1965. He was also preceded by his brother, William Campbell.

Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family. He is survived by his two sons, Randy Campbell, and Michael Campbell (Kim), both of Statesville. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Zack Campbell and Elizabeth Wilson, as well as several great-grandchildren who will carry on his memory.

Wayne will be remembered for his love of cars and motorcycles, but mostly the love for his family, and the life he built in Statesville. He leaves behind a legacy of faith and determination that allowed him to overcome strongholds. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, knowing that he is at peace in the presence of his Savior, and reunited with his beloved wife.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Beulah Church Cemetery with Rev. Beth Davidson officiating.
