Jack Ellis Webb, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 87, at the Gordon Hospice Home in Statesville. Born on May 29, 1938, in Macon County, N.C., Jack was the son of the late Joe Webb Jr. and Minnie Irene Webb.

Jack devoted many years of his life working as a mechanic in the truck shop at BFI, where he was known for his dedication and skill. Outside of work, he cherished the time spent building race car engines with his brothers and nephews, a passion that brought excitement and joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 50 years, Hazel Moore Webb; his brother, Clarence Webb; and his sisters, Pearl Palmer, Thelma Crider, Jeanette Keller, Louise McCall, and Elizabeth Fitzgerald.

Jack leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his daughters, Karen Lapish and her husband Craig, Teresa Petersen and her husband Paul, and Samantha Bell and her husband Ward; and his brothers Bert Webb and Bill Webb. He was a proud grandfather to Jason Burton and his wife Danielle, Hunter Bell, Caleb Bell, and Savannah Ray, and a beloved great-grandfather to Tyler Burton and Rowan Kelley.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at South River Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, honoring the compassionate care Jack received in his final days.

Jack’s family and friends will remember him for his kind heart, steadfast spirit, and the love he generously shared with all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
