
Faithful to the end, James Michael Campbell passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2026. He was born on March 26, 1947, in Harmony, N.C., to James Campbell and Mary Swain Campbell.
Michael attended Harmony High School. He married Mary Ann Cape in 1999. Mike retired from Tysons after 46 years of service. Mike and Mary Ann loved to travel together to Alaska, Hawaii and various other locations. Mike and Mary Ann also belong to the Late Great Chevy Car Club, which they have enjoyed for many years. Mike devoted himself to serving his Lord and loving his family. Mike led a Godly life, and he will always be remembered for working diligently in his church, his warm welcoming smile, and serving others.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Campbell and Mary Swain Campbell, and his beloved brothers, Terry and Ricky Campbell, as well as a son, Jeremy Moorefield.
He is survived by his faithful, loving and devoted wife, Mary Ann Campbell; his two sons, Casey (Erica) and Cassidy (Jona) Campbell; daughter, Heather (Jay) Givens; three granddaughters, Hannah Moorefield, Alyssia Griffin and Caroline (Austin) Martinez; two great granddaughters, Harper and Kennedy Martinez; brother, Watsel (Faye) Campbell; sisters, Madeline Hedrick (Harold), Kathy (Gerald) Johnson, and Tammy (David) Cook; and special nephew, Tim Campbell. Mike was loved also by numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Franklin and Beverly Rash, Terri and Mike Sanacore, Jeff, Nikki and Carter Rash, Jack and Lindsey Harmon, Virginia Suggs, Sam and Lou Ann Taylor, Phyllis Campbell, and Thelma Russ and Hospice Nurses.
Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 1, at New Hope Baptist Church, 149 New Hope Road, Statesville, NC 28625. Receiving of Friends is scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m. with the service at 4 p.m.
