Janet Mary Muzia, beloved wife and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was born on March 29, 1935, in Cook County, Ill., and was known for her warm spirit and kind heart.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Edward Muzia, who was her partner and confidant throughout their life together. Her legacy is deeply rooted in the lives she touched and the memories she created with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob John and Mary Ann Kmiec Aredarczyk, whose love and guiding influence shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Janet carried with her the values instilled in her during her formative years, which she shared generously with everyone she encountered.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday January 7, 2026, at the funeral home. A funeral service to honor Janet’s life will be held at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville on Wednesday January 7, 2026, beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Father Eric Kowalski officiating.

Entombment will take place at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

Her family invites all who knew her to join them in celebrating her remarkable journey and the lasting impact she made on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
