
Jeffery Jerome Gray, 65, transitioned peacefully on February 9, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1961, to the late Fred England and Saundra Louise Gray, who survives.
Jeffery was a lovable, social and kind man. His biggest accomplishment was being the best father and grandfather. Jeffery attended Statesville city schools and was a 1979 graduate of West Iredell High School. He was employed as a factory worker for over 40 years. In his spare time, Jeffery found great joy in traveling, taking pride in landscaping, and meticulously detailing cars.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Fred England; brother, Keith Templeton; granddaughter, Peyton Rose; and his great niece, Maleah Gray.
He is survived by his five children, Vernisha Camp “Bonnie,” As’hata Hayden “Mini-me,” Crystal Hargroves “Lulu,” Candice Taylor “Baby J” and Canace Wilson; son, Shane Terry; siblings, Rhonda Harris, John Gray, Triphine Gray “Candy,” and Montobia Gray; grandchildren, Tiara Clark “Sunshine,” Nasir Clark “Nas,” Moshe’ Clark “Moe,” Demetrius Hargrove “Boot,” Paris Hargrove “Chicken Bone,” Konstance Hargrove, Eli Hargrove, Nathaniel Wilson Jr. “Boots on the ground,” Anya Padgett “Lil Lady,” Antonio Padgett “Big B” and Queen’Asia Padgett “Queenie” and Savonnah Camp “Suga moma,” Nakayla Goodson, Makel Goodson, and Shannaz Terry; great granddaughter, Chloe Hargrove; ex-wife, Beverly Ramseur; special friend, Sherry Deans; godbrother, Al-Jamel Stephens, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Nicholson Funeral Home with pastor Al-Jamel Stephens officiating.
Mr. Gray will lie in state at Nicholson Funeral Home during the hours of 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday until the time of the service.
