
Jimmie Haynes Beam, 91, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, N.C.
Jimmie was born on January 6, 1935, in Iredell County to the late Elmer Sylvester Beam and Hazel Elizabeth Wooten Beam. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War era. Jimmie was a graduate of Catawba College and later earned a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. He was a Certified Public Accountant and worked for Cline & Company and later for Bruning & Federle as Office Manager.
In his spare time, Jimmie enjoyed reading and target shooting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anice Beam; and his daughter, Kimberly Dawn Beam Hill.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Barbara Freeze Beam; daughters, Alison Beam Philips (Michael) and Leigh Ann Beam; son, Keith E. Beam (Melanie); grandson, Thomas Jordan; and brothers, John Beam (Janet) and Tom Beam (Carolyn).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Covenant ARP Church, where he was a founding member. Rev. Jeff Richards will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date at Salisbury National Cemetery.
