Mrs. Joan White Dunlap, 84, of 199 Grier Farm Road, Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born in Iredell County on February 4, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Edward Chambers and Rosetta White. She was also raised by the late Mary White.

A loving wife, mother, sister and friend, she attended the Iredell County Schools and was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Baptist Church, where she served on numerous committees. She was a seamstress and worked in numerous jobs, including Beauty Maid Mills.

She was united in marriage in June of 1960 to Nathaniel Howard Dunlap Sr., who survives. She was preceded in death by two sons, Nathaniel Howard Dunlap Jr. and Steven Dunlap.
