
John Frank Crawford, 95, of Erwin, Tenn., and formerly of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Frank was born June 30, 1930, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Jay Thomas Crawford and Vallie Heath Crawford. He was a 1948 graduate of Scotts High School and a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church, and he worked for the U.S. Post Office for 32 years before retiring in 1992. He was a Statesville native for 94 years but moved to Tennessee for health reasons.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann Summers Crawford, and two sisters, Helen Hoover Deal and Martha Ellen Crawford.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, David Lynn Crawford (Kim), Ronald Eugene Crawford (Kelley) and Randall Dean Crawford (Colleen); grandchildren, John Crawford, Daniel Crawford and Andrew Crawford; great grandchild, Ryan Crawford; sisters, Mildred Blackwelder, Louise Adams and Ruth Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 16, in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Dave True officiating. The family will visit with friends in the church sanctuary prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.
