Judith Golden Turner, 77, of Mooresville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2026, peacefully and surrounded by the family she loved so deeply at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Born on December 19, 1948, in Norfolk, Va., Judy was the daughter of the late John and Edna Squires Golden. Known to many as “Judy,” she lived a life defined by kindness, service, and unwavering love for others. She spent many years working at the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, where her warm spirit and dedication were felt by all who knew her.

Judy’s heart for service extended far beyond her career. She devoted countless hours to the Girl Scouts, serving faithfully as a leader, Cookie Chair, and Service Unit Director. She found great joy in mentoring young girls and supporting her community, always giving of herself without hesitation. Above all, Judy will be remembered for her gentle compassion, her generous heart, and the love she poured into everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her precious infant grandchildren, Dax Turner and Scout Turner, whom she loved dearly and held close in her heart.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 60 years, Milton W. “Scrap” Turner Jr., her lifelong partner and greatest love. She is also survived by her children, Milton Turner III and wife Ronda, Scott Turner and wife Eryn, Daniel Turner, and Stacey James and husband BJ; her sister, Linda McCullough and husband Dale; her treasured grandchildren, Milton “DJ” Turner and wife Kimberley, Christopher Turner and wife Lydia, Emily Biggerstaff and husband Noah, Jackson Turner, Cooper Turner, Charley Turner, Morgan Turner, Reagan Turner, Victoria Turner, Savannah James, Jessie James, and Culley James; her cherished great-grandchildren, Grayson, Ivy, Toby, Milton Oliver, and Kara; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, February 6, in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, with Chaplain Eddie Karriker officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville.
