
Mr. Larry Eugene Daniels Sr., 79, of Winston-Salem, N.C., was born on February 6, 1947. He was the son of Joe Roy and Eula Mae Hickman Daniels. He departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2026.
He was twice married, first to Glady Keaton Daniels and second to Constance Napper Daniels, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Melvin Lamar Daniels Sr., Bobby Daniels, John D. Daniels, James E. Daniels, Thomas L, Daniels, John Curtis “Jimmy” Daniels, Clarence “Sneak” Daniels, Joseph Daniels, Ruth Lackey, Louise Daniels, Eloise Daniels, Leila Daniels Woods, and Mary Jean Daniels Gray; a set of twin sisters; and a grandson, Lamar Daniels.
At an early age, he joined St. Joseph Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. Later, in his adult years, he joined Jerusalem Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, where he also sang in the Male Choir. Larry loved singing, which allowed him to sing for many occasions and also with the group The Tears of Joy. He was a 1965 graduate of Morningside High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal and was honorably discharged on March 20, 1969. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Lorillard Tobacco Company.
Larry leaves to cherish the memory of his life his children, Anthony (Kimberly) Daniels and Travis (Iris) Daniels, both of Statesville, Vernon (Charlene) Daniels and Larry (April) Daniels Jr., both of Winston-Salem; his step children, Davette Napper, Deve Napper, Pastor Daryl (Dinina) Napper and DeShannon Napper; two sisters, Mildred Dolleither Daniels and Louise Daniels, both of Statesville; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
