Lori Ann Thorne Sutton, 61, of Iredell County, N.C., was born on April 10, 1964, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Lori will be remembered as a truly sweet and kind-hearted woman whose gentle spirit and warm smile touched everyone she met. Whether among friends, family, or the many co-workers and customers at King of the Sea who loved her dearly, Lori had a special way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

She was a proud graduate of West Iredell High School, where she was a member of the color guard in the marching band and had the honor of performing in President Ronald Reagan’s Inaugural Parade. She continued her education at Catawba Valley Community College and was a member of New Sterling ARP Church.

Lori was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles Everett Thorne and Elizabeth “Betty” Clair Thorne, and her brother, Dean Frederick Thorne.

Those left to cherish her memory and carry forward her love include her son, Brandon Sutton (Aleesha Sutton); her daughter, Amanda Peralta Sloan (Jamel Sloan); her sister, Debra Colson Ward of Riverview, Fla.; and her treasured grandchildren, Brixxon Sutton, Azalea Sutton, Milianny Sutton, and Myles Sloan. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she poured into them will live on for generations.
