Michael Jackson Carrigan, 74, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born January 18, 1951, the son of the late Roy Jackson Carrigan and Vergie Christine Warren Carrigan.

Michael was a truck driver for 50 years and a member of Millersville Baptist Church.

The world lost a Great Man, Father, Husband, Brother, Pop Pop, and Friend. He touched so many people’s lives during his time on earth! He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Foothills Corvette Club, Apple City Street Rodders, and Little River Ruritan Club. He loved to restore old cars, tell old stories, travel, and spend time with family and friends. He never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Carrigan, Jimmy “Devon” Carrigan, and Stanley Carrigan.

Those left to cherish and honor Michael’s memories include his wife of 18 years, Delores Carrigan; his daughter, Salena Kelly (Keith); his son, Brian Carrigan (Honey); his grandsons, Brandon Kelly, Jackson Kelly, and Dillon Mobley (Keiko); his sister, Paulette Goins (Dennis); his sisters-in-law, Toni Carrigan, Melba Carrigan, Arlene Ferguson (Tony), Regina Sipe, and Glenda Brown; brother-in-law, Levaughn Brown (Joy); mother to his son, Teresa Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Millersville Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Millersville Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Orren and Pastor Brian Kerley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Tony Caroll, Danny Miller, Mark Carrigan, Jody Carrigan, Todd Smith, and Matt Farra. Honorary pallbearers include Jax Carrigan and members of the Foothills Corvette Club and Apple City Street Rodders.
