Michael Joseph Sikorski, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on January 12, 2026, in Statesville, N.C. He was born on June 5, 1951, in Somerset, N.J, and lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication. He was 74 years old at the time of his passing.

Michael was the son of Anthony and Mary J. Sikorski, who lovingly adopted him at a young age. He grew up in New Jersey, where he graduated from Saint Anthony’s High School. In 1972, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he served with honor and distinction.

Following his military service, Michael settled in Trenton, N.J., where he began building his life and family with his beloved wife, Linda Powers-Sikorski. Together, they raised a beautiful family, who continue to carry forward his legacy of love and strength.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Linda Powers Sikorski; and his children and their families, including his oldest son Michael Sikorski and his wife Coby, and their children Serena and Alyson; his son Sean Sikorski and his wife Nicole, and their children Lilliana and Madeleine; his daughter Alicia Kalowick and her husband Joshua, and their children Christian, Aubrey, Isabella, Hayley, Caleb, and Alyssa; and his youngest son Joseph Sikorski and his wife Brittney, and their children Theodore and Emilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary J. Sikorski.

Michael was a man of many talents and simple joys. He loved building customized train sets complete with beautiful scenery, building diecast models, fishing, NASCAR, astronomy, and spending time with his loved ones. He especially enjoyed taking his family on outings to places such as airports and marinas—memories that will be cherished by all who shared those moments with him.

He passed down many valuable skills, including carpentry, masonry, and the importance of doing things properly around the house. Though he did not have much materially, he gave everything he had to his family and instilled in them the value of hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship.

Michael devoted his life to God and was baptized at Christ Alive Church in Newton, N.C., on June 11, 2017.

A service to honor Michael’s life will be held in New Jersey. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. They will be updated when available.

Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
