Monica Lee Lajoie passed away on March 22, 2026. Originally from Long Island, N.Y., she made her home in Mooresville, N.C., where she lived for the past 15 years.

She was a force to be reckoned with, fierce in everything she did. Monica found her greatest joy in being a fiercely devoted mother, grandmother, and partner. She had a deep love for gardening, enjoyed shopping, and cherished the time she spent caring for her beloved cats and dogs. Her kindness and love for her family and animals defined her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Dennis; her father, Jerry Dennis; her brother, Christopher Dennis; and Thomas Whittlesey.

Monica is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dominique Keating, and son-in-law, John Keating; her grandchildren, Adriana and Ashton; her boyfriend, Darius Whitaker; her sister, Deborah Martin; her brother, Michael Dennis; her sister-in-law, Beth Dennis; and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 East Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115.

Monica will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
