
Nancy Ann Shaffer Paff, 92, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 13, 1933, in Johnstown, Pa., to the late Martin Shaffer and Della Leventry Shaffer.
Nancy received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She retired as a case manager for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Hiram G. Andrews Rehabilitation Center, in Johnstown, Pa.
Nancy is survived by her children, Nancy Gooden of Grand Rapids, Mich., Janet Kennerknecht of Edinboro, Pa., Elizabeth Bala of State College, Pa., Terrie Smail of Mooresville, N.C., Jack Berkebile of Latrobe, Pa., Mary McDermott of Gilbert, Ariz., and David Berkebile of Colorado Springs, Colo., and 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Laurel View Village in Davidsville, Pa., for the excellent care that she received from the staff and loving support and friendships that Nancy made during her stay at this facility. Also, a special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County for the care and compassion shown to Nancy.
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, PA 15902.
