It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Nathan Scott Hawkins, 20, on January 3, 2026, in Mooresville, N.C.

Nate was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on December 8, 2005. He moved to Troutman, N.C., in 2008 and graduated from South Iredell High School in 2024. He had just begun his career as a commercial electrician in Charlotte, N.C., in March of 2025. Nate loved fishing, everything sports, working on his truck and hanging out with his friends.

Nate is preceded in death by his great grandmas, Ruth Young and Lois Miller.

He is survived by his parents, Randall and Kandice; sister, Jenna; grandparents, Tom and Sharene Devitt and Tami Young, as well as many loving friends and extended family.

Nate will be remembered by his sense of humor, his jokes and laughter that were a gift to everyone who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children’s Cancer Research Fund at childrenscancer.org.

Friends and family are invited to Troutman Funeral Home for a visitation on Tuesday, January 13, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Iredell Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
