
Pansy Keller Lackey, 80, of Statesville, N.C., born on April 19, 1945, in Iredell County, N.C., passed away peacefully at her residence on March 21, 2026, following a period of declining health. She was a devoted and loving woman whose life was marked by a genuine passion for caring for others.
Pansy dedicated many years as a cashier at Walmart, where her warm smile and kind heart endeared her to both customers and colleagues alike. Beyond her professional life, she was a cherished member of The Rock Church, deeply engaged in her faith and community.
Family was the cornerstone of Pansy’s life. She cherished the time spent with her beloved daughter, Becky Roberts (Bryan), and her two sons, Bobby Lackey and Jeremy Lackey, and she took immense joy in playing with her six grandchildren, Bryan Roberts (Brittany), Ashley Roberts, Samantha Lackey, Tessa Lackey, Lakin Lackey, and Jacob Lackey and eleven great-grandchildren, Nicklas, Jaxen, Ellenora, Braylen, Ariella, Lundin, Jeremiah, Sophia, James, Amari, and Geo. Her affection also extended to her five brothers, Marvin Keller, Melvin Keller, Jackie Keller (Peggy), Wayne Keller (Debbie), and Billy Keller (Shelby) and two sisters, Linda Rimmer and Nancy Duke (Roger), with whom she shared treasured moments. Pansy held special fondness for family trips to the beach, finding joy and rejuvenation in the laughter and togetherness these outings provided. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of watching Gunsmoke, a pastime that brought her comfort and nostalgia.
Throughout her life, Pansy was known for her selfless nature, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Her love and dedication to her family and community were evident in every aspect of her being.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pressley Lee Keller; her mother, Cecile Marie Jackson Keller; one sister, Betty Pendergrass; and three brothers, Sonny Keller, Perry Keller, and Jerry Keller, whose memories she treasured deeply.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 12 noon at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Pharr officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Pansy Keller Lackey’s legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
