Miss Retha Rebecca “Becky” Peet, 76, the daughter of the late Walker Peet and Mildred Turner Peet, was born in Iredell County on February 26, 1950. She departed this life on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Viola Peet; great granddaughter, Mahonnis Ellis; and great grandson, Jadirus Ikard; five brothers, Robert Peet, Wade Peet, Douglas Peet, Richard Peet and Walker Peet; and a sister, Daphne Peet.

She attended Unity High School and was employed by Thor-lo Hosiery and Klear-Knit Industries for many years. She had many things she enjoyed in life, especially sewing and cooking. Everyone loved her potato salad and hamburgers.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life a very significant special friend, Ricky Nichols; three daughters, Tracy P. Morgan and LaTasha Peet, both of Staesville, and Darla Peet (Sheldon) Neely of Philadelphia, Pa.; four sisters, Estella (Johnny Gus) Dalton, Judy Parks, Darcy Peet and Della Ann Peet, all of Statesville; ten grandchildren, Antonio Peet, Alexandria (Ally) Peet, Keenan Peet, Gregory Peet, Denesha Peet, Tristan Peet, Kansha Peet, Latoya (Jarrod Phifer) Hill, Whitney Hill and Willie Peet; 26 great grandchildren; a great grand child; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Debbie Young and Crystal Light.
