Sharon Ann Wing, 76, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. She was born on August 11, 1949, and raised in Grand Rapids, Mich., where her lifelong love for animals, people, and connection first began.
Sharon’s passion for animals shaped much of her life and career. She was the founder and former owner of Critter Care LLC, an animal grooming and boarding facility in Summerville, S.C., where she poured her heart into the care of pets and the relationships she built with their families. Her deep love for dogs also led her to breed and show Keeshounds, traveling the country alongside her husband and son. During this time, she proudly established and registered the kennel name Shakaze, a reflection of her dedication and excellence within the dog show community.
Beyond animals, Sharon embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She found joy in music, the excitement of entering sweepstakes without winning, traveling to visit family and friends, and, most of all, meeting new people. In her later years, Sharon truly never met a stranger — she had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen, valued, and remembered.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Rollene Vroma of Grand Rapids, Mich., and by her youngest son, Jason Wing of Mooresville, N.C.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Thomas Wing; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Elizabeth Wing; her cherished grandchildren, Kody Wing, Taylor Wing, Jacob Buehre, Jamie Buehre, Elizabeth Wing, and Ethan Wing; her beloved great-grandchildren, Adalynn Buehre, Joel Prokasky, and Remington Ireland, and many other family members who reside in Michigan.
Sharon touched the lives of everyone she met and made sure none ever forgot her. A beautiful light went out on April 4, 2026, but all who knew her will forever remember how brightly she shined.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville is proudly serving the Wing family.
