
Steven Gray Reavis, 74, of Carolina Beach, N.C., passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2026.
Steve was born on November 4, 1951, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to Norman and Rochelle “Pat” Reavis. He graduated from Statesville High School in 1970 and continued his education at UNC Charlotte, where he was a member of the Chi Phi fraternity. After serving in the United States Navy (1977–1980) in Charleston, S.C., he graduated from The Citadel and later earned his master’s degree from Queens University.
Throughout his life, Steve lived in Cornelius, N.C.; St. Louis, Mo.; and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., before settling in Carolina Beach.
Steve greatly enjoyed the game of golf, being an active member of The Island Men charitable organization, the Carolina Panthers, and various lifelong hobbies.
He is survived by his children, Gray Reavis (Ashley) of Charlotte, N.C., and Kelly Reavis of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; former wife, Dodie Reavis; brother, Mike Reavis (Karen), and their family; along with many other extended family members.
Steve will be remembered for his quick smile, spirit, and friendship, and his memory will live on in all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion – Pleasure Island Post 129, in Carolina Beach, N.C.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Steve’s memory to the charity of your choice.
