Sylvia “Jean” Honeycutt Estes, 85, of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 6, 2026. She was born on July 22, 1940, in Iredell County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Mack Henry Honeycutt and Harriet Edwards Honeycutt.

Jean worked for Draymore in Mooresville. In the 60 years of being a Sunday School teacher and Nursery School caregiver, she touched many lives at Fern Hill Baptist Church. She had no children of her own but was blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Harold Glen Estes; sister, Ollie Mae Honeycutt; and brothers, Michael, Lathern, and George Honeycutt.

Those left to cherish Sylvia’s memory are her brother, Bobby “Moose” Honeycutt (Ranae) of Sneeds Ferry, N.C.; and sister, Mildred Lane of Centreville, Md.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Fern Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Stroud and Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
