Toni Sloop Christy, 66, passed away February 24, 2026.

Toni was born in Iredell County, N.C., on December 15, 1959, to the late Haskell Sloop and Connie Lafoy Sloop. Toni was a woman of deep and unwavering faith who truly loved the Lord and lived her life as a reflection of that devotion. Her heart was just as passionate about football Sundays and racing. Toni brought warmth, strength, and spirited energy to everyone around her. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her love of the game and the track, and the light she shared so freely with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Junius Christy; son, Chad Johnson; grandson, Micah Johnson; brothers, Butch Haskell Sloop (Lori) and Jerry Sloop; and nephews, Bradley and Terry.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
