Vera Whisnant Bowman, 77, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 29, 1948, Vera was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who spent her life sharing love, faith, and kindness with all who knew her. Vera was married to Chester Bowman for many years, and together they built a family rooted in love and devotion. She delighted in attending their activities, whether it was cheering at a baseball game or watching dance performances. Above all, Vera’s favorite title was “Nana,” and she embraced her role as a grandmother with deep love and pride.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alice Whisnant, as well as her brothers Fred Jr., Daniel, and James Whisnant, and her sister Ann Kanipe.
