Virgil Keith King, 66, of Statesville, N.C., was born in Iredell County on May 25, 1959, to the late Benjamin King and Gracy Hill King. He entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his residence.

Virgil was a 1978 graduate of Statesville High School. After graduation he joined Job Corps. He loved basketball and was a kind-hearted person. He will be truly missed.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life his son, Quadir Glaspy of Statesville; a brother, Marvin King; three grandchildren, Quadir Frazier, Clayton Glaspy and Jaihzie Williams; a nephew, Marvin King Jr., a niece, Michelle Adams; a special cousin, Curtis Bernard Hill; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, N.C. Rev. Scott will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
