The Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education recognized several students for their recent accomplishments during Monday’s board meeting.
‘I Voted’ Contest Winners

The board recognized two winners of the annual “I Voted” sticker contest. The students’ artwork will be featured during the 2026 election season.
The winners are Lake Norman High student Rhys Powell and West Iredell Middle School student Marin Romero.
“Their work highlights the strength of the district’s arts education programs and the commitment of our students to active citizenship,” said Cortney Frasier, the K-12 fine arts coordinator for the district.
The contest was sponsored by the Iredell County Board of Elections and was open to students in grades K-12. The contest invited original, nonpartisan artwork that included the phrase “I Voted.”
