Another person in Iredell County has died from complications associated with COVID-19.

The Iredell County Health Department reported the county’s 12th death from the novel coronavirus on Tuesday afternoon. Local health officials do not release personal information about COVID-19 patients, citing privacy laws.

Forty-four new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Iredell on Tuesday, raising the county’s total to 946.

Twenty-one people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Iredell County, and another 386 people who have tested positive are isolating at home.

Some 527 people who have tested positive in the county since the pandemic began are now presumed recovered, according to the Health Department.

According to the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services, there have been 75,875 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state. Some 1,420 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus in North Carolina, and 989 people are currently hospitalized.
