Cherie Snell

Snell earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Wytheville Community College in Wytheville, Va., before earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Va.

She has 16 years of nursing experience, including 12 years as an operating room nurse. A longstanding member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), Snell has worked as a laser operator, cell saver operator, charge nurse, preceptor, and clinical team leader.

“I look forward to working at Iredell Memorial Hospital – getting to know the wonderful people of Iredell County and surrounding areas. My goal is to be a positive, motivated, and compassionate leader for the patients at Iredell Memorial.”

In addition to working alongside surgeons and other surgical staff as an operating room nurse, Snell will work as a circulating nurse and first assistant.

“My approach to medical care emphasizes evidence-based practice centered on the patient,” she said.

Snell and her husband have a 15-year-old and two grown children, one of whom recently blessed them with their first grandchild. They volunteer at Elevation Church-Lake Norman and enjoy Sunday dinners, boating, and attending football and baseball games.
