Thanks to the generosity of the United Way of Iredell County, Lowe’s, SECU and many others, the Salvation Army is able to provide help during this difficult time through the COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The Salvation Army is working to assist Iredell County residents who have been laid off, terminated, or had their hours decreased as well as those who been impacted by the sickness of a family member or yourself and etc.

Assistance is limited to individuals or families whom have be directly affected by COVID-19. To help assist more residents, the Salvation Army has capped assistance a $200 per household.

All services will be provided by appointments only and during normal business hours, which are Monday-Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. If someone is ill, has been ill, or has light symptoms, the Salvation Army urged them to stay at home.

“We will work around any situation as much as possible for the safety of our staff and our community,” said Shacoby Brandon, a social worker for the nonprofit.

Below you will find a list of required documentation needed to apply for financial assistance:

Assistance Requirements

Rent/Mortgage
· No assistance if Eviction from Court has been issued
· Must have lease, clients name must be on the lease and must be for current residence only
· Need landlord/ Mortgage Company telephone number, fax number and email address (if applicable)
· No same day service, process can take up to 14 Business days
· Only can assist with current rent/mortgage payment.
· Late charges and fees are responsibility of the client
· Must have a valid ID
· Must have proof of emergency (Termination letter, paystubs to show decrease in hours, etc.)
· Proof of expenses (all monthly bills)
· Proof of income (all sources)

Utilities
· Must have current bill, must be in clients name and must be for current residence
· No same day service, process in 2-3 days
· If eligible we can only assist with one month
· Late charges and fees are clients responsibility
· Will need current bill even if they have been issued a disconnection notice. (The first utility bill)
· Must have proof of emergency
· Proof of expenses
· Proof of income (all sources)
