A registered sex offender faces numerous charges related to the distribution of crystal methamphetamine following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Ryan Lewis Wilson, 35, Keyside Lane, Mooresville, in a news release on Thursday.

Wilson was arrested on Wednesday by ICSO patrol deputies and narcotics investigators while he was at 125 Ivey Ostwalt Road, Campbell said.

He is charged with two felony counts of sex offender near a child premise, three counts of felony sell or deliver a schedule I controlled substance, three counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule I controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to sell controlled substances.

While Wilson was being monitored due to his status as a registered sex offender, ICSO narcotics investigators determined he was involved in the distribution of crystal methamphetamine in Iredell County, the sheriff said.

Officers from the N.C. Department of Probation and Parole assisted narcotics investigators in locating Wilson, who will also face additional charges related to violating the terms of his probation.

Wilson was taken before Magistrate Chambers, who issued a $100,000 secured bond.
