A Statesville man faces multiple felony charges in connection with an electronic video recording device found inside the home of woman in western Iredell County.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Cody Daniel Wells, 18, who lives off Wallace Springs Road, in a news release on Tuesday.
The ICSO began investigating on December 20 after receiving a report from a woman who found the device hidden in her home, Campbell said.
The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant Jason Lowrance of the ICSO Special Victims Unit. Search warrants were obtained for the residence and items of evidence were seized, according to the news release. Several witnesses were also interviewed during the course of the investigation.
Based on the evidence gathered, Detective Sgt. Lowrance charged Wells with five counts of felony secret peeping.
Wells was arrested on Wednesday, January 15, and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Sanders issued a $50,000 secured bond on these charges.
