The Statesville Police Department reported the following arrests:

JANUARY 26
♦ Larry Jamell Turner, 33, of Elizabeth Street, Harmony, charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

JANUARY 29
Demarcus Lamont Maddox Jr., 21, of W. Sharpe Street, Statesville, charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor resist or obstruct a public officer, and two misdemeanor drug offenses.

JANUARY 30
Michael Eugene Cotton, 55, of Wilson Lee Boulevard, Statesville, charged with assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor communicating threats.

Joyce Jolene Smith, 44, of Massey Deal Road, Statesville, charged with felony flee/elude arrest, hit and run with property damage, and a misdemeanor drug offense.JANUARY 31

Austin Ty’Kim Morrison, 18, of Stockton Street, Statesville, charged with probation violation, breaking or entering, larceny after breaking or entering, and injury to personal property.

FEBRUARY 3
Willie Edward Harris, 64, of Rita Avenue, Statesville, charged with possession of cocaine.


Crime Reports

The SPD is investigating the following crime reports:

JANUARY 26
A resident of St. James Place reported that someone stole two nail guns, two gas cans, a router, and a battery charger.

JANUARY 29
A resident of Mocksville Highway reported that an iMac computer was stolen.

JANUARY 31
A resident of North Lackey Street reported that video games, assorted clothing, shoes, and an old pistol were stolen.

♦ A resident of Fifth Street reported that someone broke into a home and stole two cell phones and $15.

FEBRUARY 2
♦ A resident of Cherry Street reported that an unknown person broke into a vehicle and stole a firearm and miscellaneous firearm accessories.

♦ A resident of West End Avenue reported that an unknown person broke into a motor vehicle and stole a brown bag containing miscellaneous items.
