The Statesville High School Athletic Booster Association recently presented Principal Shelia Jenkins with $5,000 to fund scholarships for members of the Class of 2020.

Each of the following students will receive a $500 scholarship:

Marques Dalton
Jacob Lentz

Tyler Fortson
Skylyn Oswalt

The students were nominated by Jenkins as well as coaches and teachers at Statesville High.

The boosters also donated $5,200 to pay to have the football team’s helmets reconditioned, $1,500 to help purchase a zero-turn mower for the athletic department and $2,000 to buy new uniforms for the girls soccer team.

In addition, the boosters provided Chick-fil-A gift cards to 24 seniors who went above and beyond what was required of them academically during the COVID-19 crisis. The students, who were chosen by their teachers are:

The association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. It was founded in 2019 by a group of Greyhounds parents who are dedicated to supporting athletics and academics. All proceeds from club activities are used to support Statesville High School.

The Statesville High School Athletic Booster Association invites all parents and guardians of Statesville High School students to help support the Greyhounds.
