Holland, who currently works as executive officer at the Iredell County Health Department and serves as the clerk to Board of Health, is running for register of deeds. She filed the paperwork to run in the March 8, 2022, primary earlier this week.

“I am committed and compassionate about serving and helping others and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue working for the citizens of Iredell County as your next register of deeds,” Holland, a Republican, said in a campaign announcement.

A lifelong resident of Iredell County and a graduate of North Iredell High School, Holland has 25 years of experience in healthcare. She has worked at the health department for eight years, experience she believes has equipped her with the “the skills and leadership qualities necessary to serve as the next Register of Deeds.” She is involved in planning, organizing and leading various staff trainings and leadership team retreats.

“I feel that these qualities are beneficial to managing and leading a successful department,” Holland said. “In addition, I strongly believe that my years of experience working in local government as a public servant speaks volumes about my character.”

If elected register of deeds, Holland said she would focus on four strategic areas:

♦ Delivering an exceptional level of customer service to the citizens and legal professionals that utilize our services;
♦ Streamlining services to meet the demands of our growing population;
♦ Implementing new strategies to be cost-effective and efficient with the preservation of legal documents; and
♦ Providing resources to staff to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to adequately fulfill our mission.

“I am committed and compassionate about serving and helping others and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to continue working for the citizens of Iredell County as your next register of deeds,” she said. “I would be most grateful and humbled to have your support in the primary election on March 8, 2022.”

Holland and her husband Doug live on the family’s dairy farm in northern Iredell County. They have two adult children and are active members at South River Baptist Church.
