In Iredell-Statesville Schools’ first weekly COVID-19 report since the Board of Education made face masks optional and dramatically curbed the district’s contact-tracing efforts, school officials reported 39 students and seven staff members had tested positive.

According to I-SS, 154 students quarantined after coming in contact at school with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 during the week of November 5-11. Another 116 students quarantined due to contact in the community during the same time period.

Meanwhile, 350 students were required to isolate after exhibiting sypmtoms of COVID-19, school officials said.
