FROM STAFF REPORTS

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office investigators seized more than four pounds of crystal methamphetamine after it was dropped off at a residence by a package delivery service.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the seizure in a news release Friday morning.

The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is $180,000, Campbell said.

On May 21, ICSO narcotics investigators received information about a package, which possibly contained a large amount of illegal narcotics, being scheduled for delivery to a residence in Iredell County, according to the news release.

Once the package was delivered to the residence, narcotics Investigators seized the package, which had been shipped from California to a fictitious person in Iredell County.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional law enforcement agencies are assisting, Campbell said.
