Dr. Samuel J. Stelmach has joined the practice at Iredell Internal Medicine.

Dr. Samuel Stelmach

Stelmach is board-certified in internal medicine with four years of experience. He believes in a preventive approach to medical care, seeking to avoid and decrease future burdens of disease for his patients.

Upon first meeting Stelmach, patients will see he is approachable, easy to talk to, and attentive to all of their questions, concerns, or hesitations.

“My goal is to help my patients in the prevention and overall improvement of their medical conditions, as well as gain a deeper understanding of their health,” said Stelmach.

Stelmach chose to pursue internal medicine because it encompasses a broad skillset, a wide variety of medical knowledge, and people skills, all while bringing out the best in doctor-patient relationships.

Stelmach earned his medical degree at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland. He completed his internal medicine residency through the Wayne State University Sinai-Grace program at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Mich.

He was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., but spent part of his childhood in Europe. In addition to English, Stelmach is also fluent in Polish. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and playing tennis.

His favorite healthy tip is to drink more water. The more water you drink, the less hungry you will feel, making you less likely to snack throughout the day.
