Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Jennie Marie Hedrick, 56, in a news release on Thursday.

The ICSO began investigating on September 8 after receiving a report from a business about the theft of merchandise, Campbell said in a news release.

During the investigation, Detective John Adams interviewed co-workers and witnesses from the business. Evidence was obtained showing several pieces of jewelry had been stolen from the store.

The owner suspected Hedrick was taking jewelry from the business, according to the news release.

Additional evidence was obtained by investigators showing that Hedrick sold various pieces of jewelry to businesses in Statesville and Salisbury from May 1 through September 7, Campbell said.

Detectives subsequently confirmed that the pieces she sold had been stolen from the business where she worked, according to the news release.

The amount of jewelry recovered and returned to the original business was valued at more than $3,500, Campbell said.

Detective Adams obtained warrants chargining Hedrick with eight counts of felony larceny by employee and two counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Deputies assigned to the ICSO Warrant Division located Hedrick and arrest her on September 16. She was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Imes issued a $15,000 secured bond on these charges.
