A southern Iredell County resident is free on an unsecured bond after he was arrested and charged with multiple charges related to child pornography.

Iredell County Sheriff Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Austin Jay Zivich, 26, in a news release on Tuesday.

Detective assigned to the ICSO Special Victims Unit began investigating on October 2 after receiving information from a cybertip from the the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, Campbell said. The detectives verified the images and obtained a search warrant for possible suspect account information.

Detective Jena Wabel subsequently reviewed the information and images associated with the investigation and determined the images were child pornography, according to the news release.

Detective Wabel obtained arrest warrants charging Zivich with three counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

ICSO Warrant Squad Deputy Nathan Hodges located Zivich on November 29 and took him into custody.

Zivich was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Nethken issued a $50,000 unsecured bond on these charges.
