FROM STAFF REPORTS

Three suspects face multiple felony drug charges following a four-month investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigation Unit.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of the following suspects in a news release:

♦ Deannea Rochell Savoy, 33, of Duffy Street, Mooresville;
♦ Kortney Jermaine Maddox, 45, of Abernathy Avenue, Statesville; and
♦ Latasha Jimnette Ramseur, 38, of South Lackey Street, Statesville

On Friday, December 3, ICSO personnel concluded the investigation by executing a search warrant at 402 North Lackey Street in Statesville, according to the news release.

Narcotics Unit investigators began looking into the distribution of MDMA (ecstasy) after receiving information about a then-unknown female distributing large amounts of ecstasy throughout Iredell County and inside the city limits of Statesville, Campbell said.

While following up on additional leads and gathering further evidence, investigators identified Savoy as a distributor and subsequently purchased over 1,800 dosage units of ecstasy directly from her, Campbell said.

Through undercover surveillance operations, narcotics investigators observed Savoy visiting the 402 North Lackey Street residence or meeting Maddox prior to or directly after selling various amounts of ecstasy, according to the news release.

After gathering additional evidence, the investigators obained the search warrant for 402 North Lackey Street, Campbell said.

While executing that search warrant, investigators located approximately 164.6 grams of THC-infused edibles and a handgun inside the residence, Campbell said. Investigators also searched a vehicle that was owned by Ramseur and regularly operated by Maddox and located 158 dosage units of MDMA ecstasy inside the vehicle, according to the news release.

Based on an average street price of $10 to $20 per pill, depending on the area, and location, the estimated value of the ecstasy pills seized is between $20,420 and $40,840, Campbell said.
