Cub Scout Pack No. 173 held its annual Pinewood Derby Race recently at the Mt. Mourne Boy Scout Center.

The Scouts raced cars they had hand built from kits on a 32-foot inclined track.

The race winners along with recipients of the Best-Looking Car Award and Most Original Car Award, (pictured above from left) were:

♦ Luke McClelland (Best Looking Car);
♦ Culley James (1st place);
♦ Dominic Pugliese (2nd place);
♦ Tanner Opekun (3rd place); and
♦ Norah McClelland (Most Original Car)

The three top race winners qualified for the county-level competition in April.

An exciting time after the Scout race was an “Almost Anything Goes Race” in which adults competed as well as a race for siblings.

The Cub Scout Pack in Mt. Mourne is sponsored by Fair View United Methodist Church. The Cubmaster of the Pack is John McClelland.
