Elementary students all around Iredell-Statesville Schools continued the tradition of celebrating the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was better known as Dr. Seuss, this past week.

Many schools hosted activities all week to celebrate Read Across America, and each day offered a different theme. The idea is to get children excited about reading.

Teachers, principals and staff even dressed up as their favorite story characters. Many schools had special guests come in and read their favorite Dr. Seuss book and other stories to classrooms throughout the week.
