Five men face charges after Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies found marijuana and firears in an SUV during a traffic stop.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Lewis Ferry Road and Three Oaks Lane on Wednesday, September 14, according to an ICSO news release.

The deputies were able to identify all five males in the vehicle. During the investigation, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in the news release.

During the search, deputes found two firearms and over 74 grams of marijuana, which was in individually packaged bundles consistent with the sale of marijuana, Campbell said. The deputies also found three of the men were in possession of a large amount of cash in denominations often associated with narcotic sales, accoriding to the news release.

While gathering criminal information on the men through criminal databases, deputies learned that three occupants, including the driver, are convicted felons who are prohibited from possessing firearms.

The following suspects were arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center:

Travis Christian Davidson, 28, of Sparrow Lane, Statesville, was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. He received a $5,000 bond.

Julius Cordell French, 28, of Long Island Road, Statesville, was charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in the Passenger Area. He received a $10,000 bond.

♦ Shyheim Khalil Summers, 22, of Long Island Road, Statesville, was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. He received a $10,000 bond.

Dravey Tanner Mayfield, 28, of Holland Drive, Statesville, was charged with Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. He received a $10,000 bond.

♦ Steven Deshaun Turner, 42, of Wagner Street, Troutman, was charged with Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Deliver, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia. He received a $20,000 bond.
