Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Christine Yvonne Mays, 47, and Allen Jennings Campbell, 33, in a news release Monday.

The ICSO narcotics unit began investigating after receiving information that Mays was actively selling and distributing crystal methamphetamine from 1484 Charlotte Highway, according to the news release.

After surveillance operations were established in the area, undercover investigators verified the information and purchased crystal methamphetamine directly from Mays at the home, Campbell said.

When the search warrant was executed, investigators and deputies located Mays and Campbell, along with two other individuals inside the home, the sheriff said.

A search of the property uncovered a hidden handgun inside the bedroom where Campbell was staying along with 22.76 grams of crystal methamphetamine valued at just over $2,000, according to the news release.

Two more on our elected District Attorney’s catch and release trophy scrapbook back into our neighborhood(s). Check both criminal records. Google a street view of 1484 Charlotte Hwy in Mooresville. Nice work to the local sheriff office – sorry you have the DA right next door to your building that keeps returning them to our neighborhood(s). Sad – but true!
